General FAQs
Frequently asked questions prior to the start of therapy at Relational Resilience Therapy.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes, we specialize in online, trauma informed, somatic therapy for individuals and couples throughout Colorado. We do not offer in-person sessions in Colorado at this time. Virtual care provides flexibility and removes the stress of commuting, allowing you to fully focus on your healing while maintaining a sense of safety and comfort in your own home.
How does online trauma therapy work in Colorado?
We provide virtual trauma therapy for individuals and couples throughout Colorado. Sessions are conducted securely online, allowing you to engage in deep therapeutic work from the comfort of your home. Online somatic therapy interventions can be just as effective as in-person care, especially when working with nervous system regulation, attachment wounds, and high stress.
Who do you work with?
We primarily work with individuals and couples navigating high stress or the lingering effects of traumatic experiences. Our practice offers a compassionate, grounding space for those who feel disconnected and are seeking to reconnect with their resilience through relational connection and somatic regulation.
What somatic approaches do you use?
Our practice integrates somatic tools through a neuroexperiential approach called Brainspotting. This regulation-focused method prioritizes safety and nervous system balance, supporting your brain and body to gently process and reorganize experiences at a pace that honors your natural timing and resilience.
What is somatic therapy and how does it help with trauma?
Somatic therapy is a body-based approach to trauma therapy that focuses on nervous system regulation rather than just talking about what happened. When stress or trauma overwhelms the system, the body can remain stuck in survival mode. Through online somatic therapy, we gently support your brain and body in processing stored stress so you can feel more grounded, regulated, and resilient in daily life.
Transparency and Choices in Your Care
We believe in a therapeutic partnership that is transparent, safe, and entirely centered on your needs. As an out-of-network provider, we do not accept insurance.
This means you pay the session fee at the time of service. We can provide you with a 'superbill' -an itemized invoice- that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.
Choosing out-of-network care preserves your privacy by preventing mandatory diagnostic reporting to insurance databases. It also ensures that the length and pace of your therapy are determined by your own nervous system's rhythm and somatic needs, rather than external constraints.
This flexibility allows us to prioritize what truly resonates with you while supporting your long-term resilience.

Session Length & Frequency
How long are sessions?
How often will we meet?
What if my needs shift over time?
Our virtual therapy sessions are typically 45–50 minutes long. This structured time allows space to check in, explore what’s present, process meaningfully, and return to grounding- all at a pace that honors your nervous system’s capacity within a safe, collaborative environment.
Research suggests that meeting weekly at the beginning of the therapeutic process helps build momentum and deepen the work. That said, your needs and flexibility matter. We’ll collaborate to find a rhythm that best supports your goals and life.
That’s completely normal. Therapy is designed to evolve as you do. We’ll check in regularly and adjust the length or frequency of sessions as needed so the work continues to feel supportive, sustainable, and aligned with your goals.
Cancellation Policy
What is the cancellation window?
We kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This transparency supports consistent care and allows us to offer the opening to others in our community who may be seeking support.
What happens if I miss a session?
Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) or no-shows are typically charged the full session fee. We honor that unexpected life events occur and invite open dialogue to navigate these moments with compassion and mutual respect.
How do I reschedule my appointment?
You can easily reschedule by contacting your therapist directly. We prioritize a collaborative approach, ensuring we find a new time that supports your nervous system's need for stability.
